Thursday 5th December 2024: Many thanks to everyone at Neutral Territory who hosted the 2024 end of year networking celebration.
As a change from the traditional meet up at Groundwork HQ, this time we were invited to the fascinating location in Claydon near Ipswich for an informal gathering to celebrate such a momentous year. These characterful surroundings of this barn refurbishment with its high ceilings, exposed beams and a floor recycled from a school gymnasium, made a unique venue.
We enjoyed a fantastic selection of mince pies, rolls and cakes while taking the opportunity to chat to fellow members as well a some just curious as to what the Charter can do for their own businesses.
After an introduction from me for our host to take the floor, we were treated to a brief history of how Neutral Territory came to be and where it is headed. Then some brave souls followed Richard on a tour around the site, with pictures of its construction and a walk around the beautiful grounds where biodiversity is supported in many imaginative ways.
There are ex-railway sleepers piled specifically to encourage various rarer species of Bee as well as permanent compost heaps in enclosures where rare types of creature can be witnessed. The deliberate design of the garden areas are topped off by an established pond to bring wildlife to the grounds and make it a much nicer place to live and work.
Then it was back inside for more riveting conversation and appreciation of this unique building.
