Monday 10th July 2023: It has come to our notice that some Members are being contacted by businesses claiming to be recommended by the Carbon Charter Team
It is quite usual for Charter businesses to contact others using the members directory to communicate their news throughout the network, and we encourage this.
However, this News article is in response to some Charter members being contacted by various organisations claiming to actually be from the Carbon Charter.
Let us reassure you that, here at the Carbon Charter, we are proud of the co-operative nature of how the organisation is run. It is run for the benefit of members and does not seek to profit from the selling of data in any way.
If any member is contacted by any other entity claiming to offer business services along these lines then please be assured that they are not working on behalf of the Charter,
At best, they are simply trying to re-sell information that you can find on the Charter website already and at worse they may be a phishing scam so caution is strongly advised.
If any Member is uncertain about someone contacting them claiming to be Charter affiliated and that business is not in the members directory then feel free to contact us for clarification.
