16th – 18th August 2024: What a fantastic weekend this was…
Set in the beautiful grounds of Glemham Hall, with its gently rolling open fields and wooded areas, it made a perfect acoustic landscape for the various sound stages to choose from.
The Carbon Charter was there in the Suffolk Recycles marquee where we had a constant stream of people finding out about the good work we do.
This year, the curiosity of passers by to delve into aspects of the environmental messages was as strong as ever. We had enquiries ranging from kids studying worms under a microscope, business people expressing their need to get their own environmental credentials through the Charter and general awareness raising of how many projects there are showing how hard the Council works for a sustainable future for everyone.
The spin-the-wheel game highlighting the next phase of the Plug in Suffolk EV charging Project was popular but although young and old wanted a go it also seemed to be the perfect place for dragonflies to rest their wings in the sunshine.
As well as the acts playing there were craft areas, displays and lots of refreshments on offer. People camping or just visiting for the day or camping for the whole weekend would find plenty of entertainment.
Local band, Honey and the Bear, was a standout for me but there were so many choices of music that everyone could find something they liked.
Even though this iconic event may have to find a new venue for 2025 we wish it all the best and look forward to supporting it in the future.
