Thursday 30th October 2025: Where else but Jimmy’s Farm would be the best place to find out about this? As part of the Carbon Charter’s Suffolk Sustainable Tourism support we invited businesses from the hospitality, entertainment, heritage, visitor attractions, food and drink – and any other business loosely working within the visitor economy – to receive FREE training through a series of workshops.
These workshops were designed to link together as a series, however, the conference at Jimmy’s Farm was the highlight.
How to Communicate Effectively about Sustainability – at Jimmy’s Farm
Thursday 30th October 2025 at Jimmy’s Farm and Wildlife Park, Wherstead, Ipswich (10am to 12.30pm)
Attendees were given support to create their own sustainability policy, feel more confident about communicating about their sustainability plans and actions.
- Writing an environmental/sustainability policy
- Writing a carbon reduction plan
- Responding to customers, supplier questionnaires & tenders
- Avoiding greenwashing

An Introduction to Net Zero and Sustainable Business
Thursday 2nd October 2025, at Endeavour House, Ipswich (10am to 12.30pm)
An interactive and informative workshop helping tourism businesses to understand and manage emissions and wider environmental impacts and to put in place strategies to reduce these.
- Jargon Busting
- Climate Science
- Carbon Footprints
- Net Zero & Wider Impacts
This was a good initial introduction to the subject.

2. Cutting Costs and Cutting Carbon
Tuesday 21st October 2025, at Endeavour House, Ipswich (2pm to 4.30pm)
This workshop has a focus on practical action and examples of how businesses can save money at the same time as reducing their environmental impacts.
- Understanding Emissions
- Exploring energy efficiency actions and renewable energy technologies
- Premises, transport and supply chain carbon reductions
- Sector specific tips
This explored the terms and language around the subject in more detail.
All three sessions included an opportunity to network and share ideas with other like-minded local tourism businesses.
