Tuesday 15th June 2021: Located near Woodbridge in Suffolk, this week’s #CharterTuesday focus have made outstanding strides to make their operations as green as the countryside this beautiful building nestles in.
Having installed Solar PV and upgraded their heating and lighting to energy efficient equipment they have also innovated their landscaping to help biodiversity across the grounds.
This has had the added benefit of reducing water use and has been achieved by constructing a new reservoir using recycled car tyres for reinforcement.
This gained them a a natural habitat for wildlife and flora. In fact, the latest RSPB bird count identifying some 68 different species of birds across the site.
They won the English Golfer Environmental Award in recognition of their commitment to ecological good practice. in addition, they have also been awarded The Silver Tourism Award and most recently, a Golf Green Leaders award by Trip Advisor.
