Join us for a certified Carbon Literacy course delivered by Groundwork East as part of the trailblazers tourism project, Usually the cost is required in advance but this course is fully-funded by Suffolk’s public sector leaders as part of their support for delivering the Suffolk Climate Emergency Plan. Delivered over 2 online 3.5-hour sessions on Thurs 5th Feb, and Thurs 12th Feb 2026, between 9am and 12:30pm.
Attending both sessions and completing a pledge form after the course, will allow you to become certified as Carbon Literate, by the Carbon Literacy Project.
Course Details
The course will cover:
- Understanding the science behind climate change and greenhouse gas emissions (and where the Tourism industry fits into this)
- Carbon footprints and why these are important
- Identifying ways which we can all reduce emissions as individuals
- Ways we can achieve collective changes within tourism and leisure businesses
- Creating carbon reduction targets and plans
- How to communicate your efforts and plans
Our training is accredited by the Carbon Literacy Project and is aimed at all employees, from the shop floor to leadership.
Tickets are fully funded for attendees from Suffolk Tourism businesses; costs are covered by funding from Suffolk’s public sector leaders – but spaces are limited so we reserve the right to charge a £10 fee for anyone that signs up but does not attend (or give adequate notification).
You will need to attend both sessions to be certified as Carbon Literate.
