Ipswich-based branding and design agency What Associates has been working with the Groundwork East to develop the exciting new Suffolk tourism ‘Trailblazers’ campaign.

The new Trailblazers campaign provides tools, training and support to Suffolk’s tourism businesses to identify and reduce their own carbon emissions and wider environmental impacts, as well as those of their customers.

What Associates is a proud Gold level Carbon Charter award holder and active member of the Carbon Charter sustainable business network. So the agency’s work for Groundwork East to develop the campaign identity, assets and materials provides another great example of sustainable supply chains in action!

Wendy Hodgson,  partner at What Associates said: We prioritise sustainability, partnering with suppliers and manufacturers who share our values and focus on innovative, environmentally conscious solutions. Working on this project was therefore a great opportunity to make a positive impact.

As part of the development of the campaign, What Associates has interviewed some of Suffolk’s sustainability ‘trailblazers’ from the leisure and tourism sector including FolkEast festival and the New Wolsey Theatre and have created some engaging case studies sharing the steps they have already taken on their own sustainability journeys.

The Brook Inn, Washbrook and Jet Adventures boat trips from Lowestoft also provided valuable insight into their own key actions and explained some of the benefits of taking steps to reduce their environmental impacts.

Organisations working within the leisure and tourism sector in Suffolk are encouraged to get in touch via the Carbon Charter website to find our more about the free support available through the Trailblazers campaign; or call 01473 350370 to speak to one of Groundwork’s sustainable business team.
