As we move into a new year 2022, why not make some carbon reduction resolutions for your organisation? Here are a few suggestions …
- Commit to calculating your organisation’s carbon footprint every year. As we always say, ‘you can’t manage what you don’t measure’. Your Carbon Charter membership means the team can support you with this for free at any time.
- Set an emissions reduction target for your business and measure progress against this. A ‘science-based target’ will guide your business to meeting Net Zero commitments.
- Switch to 100% renewable electricity via your electricity supplier. Or generate your own carbon free electricity by installing solar PV.
- Plan ahead for going fully electric. It is hoped that UK grid electricity will be carbon free by 2035 so moving from fossil fuels to electric heating and electric vehicles will help you to reach Net Zero. So commit now to invest in electric when equipment or vehicles need replacing.
- Get your team and suppliers on board. Talk to your colleagues about how the actions we take can reduce greenhouse gas emissions and climate change. Invite your suppliers to join the Carbon Charter. Our Carbon Literacy course supports learners to feel more confident in communicating on these issues, so why not sign yourself or a colleague up for a course.
