Thursday 1st July 2021: It was a fond farewell to Freckenham as this year’s party took place for the last time in the beautiful surroundings of the Old Rectory.
Bathed in the warm weather and fresh air of the Suffolk countryside, Carbon Charter members and their guests were treated to inspirational speeches and unique refreshments. There was time to chat and make new connections while admiring the greenery of the grounds as well as the stunning electric vehicles on display.
It was an opportunity not to be missed as this year’s Carbon Charter Summer Event garden party took place for the last time at this particular location and we owe thanks to WOOLLEY for so graciously hosting this event for the past seven occasions.
Enjoying lovely Summer sunshine, the event was well attended despite the unusual times.
The speaker line up above shows Tim O’Riordan (OBE), Cllr Melanie Vigo di Gallidoro of Suffolk County Council, Nick Woolley our Host and Ned Harrison of SCC who is lead on the Carbon Charter Project.
After the speeches, Cllr Melanie Vigo di Gallidoro presented Skyview Systems with their award then it was time for refreshments from Alison’s Eatery of Bury St Edmunds. This was all Vegan food so therefore low carbon impact. The Vegan Pulled Pork was an experience.
There was time at the end for socially distanced networking and chatting and a chance to look around the electric vehicles on display.
Among the cars on display were the Tesla Model S and Model 3 Performance as well as The MG ZS and Renault ZOE’s. There was also an Electric Van from Yum Yum Tree Fudge turned out in artistic livery.
The 2021 Summer Event was a big success and served as a fond farewell to this stunning location.
Although next time this event is held it will be at a new venue, the popularity of this kind of get together is a major advantage of Carbon Charter membership and the search is now on for somewhere with as much character as the last seven get togethers.
