Carbon Charter Pathfinder Partners are larger organisations that share the Charter’s ethos of sustainable business practice, and proactively work to accredit some or all of their supply chain.
By recognising much of their environmental impact rests within their supply chain, helping and encouraging suppliers to reduce energy use and carbon emissions has an enormous impact on their own carbon footprint.
The Pathfinder Partner’s involvement may include:
- Financial support for participating SMEs
- Supply chain engagement
- Promotion of the Charter to its members
Case Study: The East of England Co-operative supports its local suppliers to join the Carbon Charter. Supplier businesses get support to calculate their carbon footprint and to improve environmental management over time which helps support the Coop to manage and reduce its own Scope 3 emissions from its supply chain.
